Coordination office University of Applied Sciences Emden-Leer

From the region for the region – and with a view to the world: Those who decide to study in Emden or Leer will study at a university with a personal atmosphere. Currently, around 4.700 students are enrolled at the two study locations. In addition to 24 bachelor’s degree programmes, there are also ten master’s degrees in the fields of technology, social work and health, business as well as maritime and maritime sciences. The study programmes are partly interdisciplinary and internationally oriented. You can also study with a dual system, i.e. in connection with professional practice in a company.

The university is committed to technological, economic and social development in the Northwest. In doing so, it provides impulses for the educational region of East Frisia and promotes scientific networks. At the same time, the region is represented in the education and research sector at home and abroad.

The university has set itself the goal of expanding interdisciplinary and international cooperation. This applies to both teaching and research.  It also contributes to sustainable development. On the one hand, there is a wide variety of study contents, research priorities and projects in the field of sustainable technologies, but also in terms of social responsibility. Students can also get involved in sustainability and acquire a so-called sustainability certificate. Since December 2016, the university is Fairtrade-University.
